3/4/07 - 7/4/07 : Amsterdam, Holland
Amsterdam. What does it mean to you?

Drugs?

Sex?
Well, there's definitely more to Amsterdam than that. Anyway, the first photo shows a coffee shop, which in Amsterdam means a place for marijuana. This coffee shop is the most famous in Amsterdam as it appeared in Ocean's Twelve. If you don't recognise which scene, you can just go in and they have like LCD monitors replaying that scene over and over again.
Amsterdam is most famous for its Red Light District, I guess. Unfortunately, I don't have photos of it. The girls or "girls" are supposed to be anonymous, so if you innocently take pictures of them, both you and your camera will very conveniently end up in the nearby canal.

The four of us joined the Red Light District tour for 8 EUR (S$16.80) as we initially thought it was a dangerous place to be in. But it is actually the safest place in Amsterdam as there are police every about 100m. Okay, so the place behind us is the famous Red Light District. Not red hor? Cos the sun still bright and shiny lor. It was about 7.30pm at the time of the picture but still not dark enough.

Amsterdam from the top looks like an onion cut in half whereby the circles of the onion represents its canals. Just in case you might not know, Amsterdam is actually below sea level and it is a city created by a dam at the river Amstel, therefore, Amsterdam. It is quite nice to tour the city, seeing a canal after every one or two streets or just get onto a boat and move around the canals. Some canals reek of pee though. Haha..

Talking about pee. Haha.. This is called the pee reflector. Amsterdam used to have the problem of drunkards peeing in corners like this, causing the streets to reek like hell. So pee reflectors are placed strategically in such popular corners so that the drunkard's pee will hit the reflector and flow back onto the drunkard.
Besides going to the Red Light District and coffee shop, we visited other parts of Amsterdam and went to see the windmills as well. Photos galore!!
