It's my life

I want to spread my wings and fly.. Glide above the oceans.. View the world from above and laugh at all the stupidity beneath me.. I just wish.. Sometimes... When I have the time...

Greetings from Lund! Haha.. I'm at PC's place now. Gonna celebrate CNY here with her, YW and some of their Chinese friends. Anyway, my blog debts are piling up so I better finish up my last post for my Norway trip. To Oslo!!

1 Feb - 4 Feb (Oslo, Norway)
So from Bergen, we took a train to Oslo and reached there in the evening so the first thing we did was to look for our hostel. Thankfully, the hostel was rather nearby and we were soon checked in. It was a rather old hostel but the room was big and there was a TV and a DVD player in the room! The owner also allowed us to borrow DVDs for free! Yup, so we borrowed '50 first dates' and 'Rumour has it' but we only watched the former as it was like 2am by the time we washed up and finished watching it. Yet, the bad thing about it was our dear neighbour also had a DVD player in their room and they were watching 'Grease'. We knew it cause they were rather hyper with some loud sing-along session in their room till about 3 am. Haha..

So we slept only after 3 am and woke up soon after for a breakfast buffet which we each paid 50kr (S$12.50) for. Well, the buffet was not bad and being typical Singaporeans, we koped some jam and honey back home. Hur hur...
This is how the restaurant for the breakfast buffet looks like. Didn't take any pictures of the room though. Guess we were all too traumatised by the sing-along girls next door. Hah!
Ok, so we checked out after breakfast and left our luggages in the luggage room of the hostel. While L and R were queuing for the Oslo Day Pass, PC and I proceeded to buy a stamp and send our postcards back home. Remember the postcard I bought in Bergen? That was the one in my hand, going into the mailbox. After that, we dutifully made our way to the Ski Museum.
We took the train up to the Holmenkollen and walked up the hill to the Ski Museum. Nice view along the way, although the slope was extra slippery due to the melting snow and ice on the pavement and stairs.
So we finally reached the Ski Museum and went in to look see after paying 40kr (S$10) for the admission. There wasn't anything much in the museum actually. The highlight was the Ski-jump tower which was so freakingly high that I just don't know how can anyone ever jump off it and slide down.
So we headed downhill after visiting the Ski Museum and proceeded to the sculpture park next.

There were plenty of sculptures in the sculpture park and they were all done by one person. But this person is no longer around already. It was only after his death that people discovered his collection of interesting art and decided to build a park to display his works.

Just a random picture which I thought was nice. Don't know what building is this, though. This is taken in the town after we left the sculpture park and was looking for a nice place to settle down and have dinner.

And so, this was our dinner for that day: Kebab in pita. Although a little pricey, the food was not bad and the serving was rather big. After dinner, we went back to the hostel to collect our luggages and headed to the train station to wait for our train at 23:00. We returned to Göteborg at about 3:40am and took a cab back to my apartment. All of us were terribly exhausted by the end of our adventure in Norway. Kinda xiong to cover 3 places in 4 days I guess.
