It's my life

I want to spread my wings and fly.. Glide above the oceans.. View the world from above and laugh at all the stupidity beneath me.. I just wish.. Sometimes... When I have the time...

13/4/07 - 15/4/07 : Budapest, Hungary

Budapest is the best East European city one can ever be in. Haha.. Yah, having compared to only 2 that I have been to. At least it was the hottest European city I've been too. Comparable to Singapore's temperature, I guess, about 27-29 degrees celsius. Anyway, Budapest is a more touristy place than Krakow and Warsaw. One of it's main attractions is the chain bridge.

There's another bridge next to it called the Elizabeth bridge.

One of the statues situated on a particular hill which we were incapable of climbing due to our tired feet and spoilt bodies.

The trolley bus! Never see before, so I swa ku and take picture loh.

A severely vandalised train. Beautiful, in my opinion.

Nice decor along the river banks I think. Seems like so many people committed suicide in this river and left their shoes behind. Hehe..

An interesting poster I found in the toilet of my hostel.

Heroes Square. Just some statues ar.

House of terror. Museum for the holocaust which I did not go in.

The Parliament building.

The Hungarian flag with a hole in the middle to signify the elimination of the communist identity of the country as there used to be a star in the middle of the Hungarian flag. Now it just has red, white and green stripes. And the following pictures show the interiors of the Parliament building.

Pretty flowers by the roadside.

The bell tower. View from the top.

Nice architecture. The second one is the back of the palace. First one ah, I don't remember liao. Haha..

That's it for Hungary! A sweet little place with more tourists an hence, less staring eyes fixed upon us. We were also amused to find several Mandarin-speaking ang mohs there. The receptionist in our hostel, for example, is multilingual. He says that he is more Singaporean than us because he can speak English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. But he also speaks a lot of languages like French, German, Turkish, etc. Cool eh?
